Marathon Petroleum Corporation is one of the largest petroleum refining, marketing, and transportation companies in the United States, operating a network of refineries primarily in the Midwest, Gulf Coast, and West Coast regions. The company also owns a controlling interest in MPLX LP, a midstream master limited partnership that handles gathering, processing, and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. Marathon Petroleum markets its refined products through branded fuel stations and distributes fuels wholesale across North America.
